On my way to work today, the temperature in the car suddenly rose. I suspect the problem is with the a/c compressor because the air wouldn’t blow cold at all. I even tried turning off and on the car, but no luck. Has anyone else had this happen with their Volkswagen? I'll call the service center tomorrow because I've been really busy lately.

Did you already check if there are compressor problems or if there is a leakage? Haven't experienced this but from my knowledge and passion for cars this might be an indicator that there is a problem with the AC compressor. Its good that you'll contact your local dealer, they'll fix this in no time don't worry.

Twice a year routine check-up will save you this trouble. if you left this un-check for some time, try to check the cabin filter, maybe it accumulated so much dirt in it. But to make sure, it's much better to visit the nearest dealer in your area.

I received a Service Action 87i1 Pressure/Temperature Sensor letter last week. I've been experiencing the same as yours too. Maybe this part is the issue. Dealer said they'll replace it for free. Will update you guys once it's done.

Regarding this issue, my dealer performed the 87I1 check and found the sensor to be defective on Friday. They ordered the part, which arrived on Saturday, and had it installed by Monday in no time.

I haven’t had that exact issue, but it definitely sounds like the A/C compressor could be the problem. Calling the service center sounds like a good plan. Hope it gets sorted soon!

Yeah, it’s definitely not the “cool” situation you want to be in! Hopefuly the service center can chill things out for you soon

That’s frustrating, especially on a busy day. A/C issues in EVs can sometimes be software-related rather than mechanical. Some VW ID.4 owners have reported A/C failures due to faulty sensors or software glitches, not just compressor failures. If you have time before your service appointment, you could try a system reset (holding the power button on the infotainment for about 10 seconds) to see if that helps. Either way, definitely have the service center check it out before it turns into a bigger issue.

You're right that A/C problems in EVs can sometimes be due to software glitches or sensor issues, not just mechanical failures. A system reset could be worth trying before a service appointment. Definitely have the service center take a look to prevent any bigger issues.
